In some cases, general anesthesia is the best solution for treating dental problems. It is used in the following cases:
Is general anesthesia safe?
General anesthesia is performed in a hospital under the care of specialized doctors and an anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist will examine the patient before the procedure and perform tests to ensure that there are no medical contraindications for general anesthesia.
What happens after general anesthesia?
The patient can leave the hospital two hours after the procedure and resume their normal activities.
The patient may feel some pain after the procedure, but it will go away within one or two days at most if they take the medications prescribed by the treating physician.
The physician may also recommend some instructions, such as regular brushing and flossing.
